Salt and Bairstow Guide England to Victory in St Lucia
Highlights of the T20 World Cup
Phil Salt and Jonny Bairstow guided England to a comfortable victory over the West Indies in their T20 World Cup clash in St Lucia.
England's Dominance
England, the current ICC Men's T20 World Cup champions, dominated the match from the outset, posting a formidable total of 204/5 thanks to Salt's blistering 88 off just 43 balls. Bairstow chipped in with a valuable 41 as England's top order put on a commanding display.
The West Indies struggled to keep up with England's pace, eventually being bowled out for 132 in the 19th over. Chris Gayle top-scored with 42, but England's bowlers, led by David Willey's 3/21, proved too strong.
This victory strengthens England's position as one of the favorites to retain their World Cup title. They will next face Bangladesh on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
