Edmonton, Alberta - The Edmonton Oilers have forced a decisive game seven in the Stanley Cup Finals after defeating the Florida Panthers 5-1 at home in game six. Connor Brown's goal in the first period gave the Oilers the early lead, and they never looked back.
Evan Rodrigues scored twice in the third period to bring the Panthers within one goal, but the Oilers held on for the victory. Mike Smith made 38 saves for Edmonton, while Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 27 shots for Florida.
The Oilers now have a chance to win their first Stanley Cup since 1990 when they face the Panthers in game seven on Saturday in Sunrise, Florida.
