Edmonton Star Lights Lamp In Double Ot Gives Oilers 1 0 Series Lead

McDavid's Overtime Heroics Help Oilers Steal Game 1

Edmonton star lights lamp in double OT, gives Oilers 1-0 series lead

Stars' rally falls short as Oettinger shines again

Connor McDavid continued his dominant performance in the postseason, scoring the overtime winner and adding a helper as the Edmonton Oilers earned a 3-2 victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final.

With the game tied 2-2 and just over five minutes remaining in the second overtime period, McDavid drove to the net and fired a wrist shot past Stars goalie Jake Oettinger to give the Oilers the victory.

McDavid's goal was his fifth of the playoffs, and it extended his point streak to eight games. He also added an assist on Zach Hyman's first-period goal.

The Stars, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game in the third period, were unable to find the winner in overtime despite a strong performance from Oettinger, who made 39 saves.

Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Saturday night at American Airlines Center.
